RUBIA, FRANCISCO AGABAO Francisco Agabao Rubia, age 74, died on May 3, 2008, at Naval Hospital, San Diego, California. He was born on March 9, 1934, at Cabugao, Ilocos, Sur, Philippines. His parents are Felix and Mercedes Rubia. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mercedes Zingapan Rubia, of 36 years; children Mercedes and Joseph Cipolloni of Philadephia, Frances and Larry Key, and Cherylynne and Kevin Brewer of San Diego, California; grandchildren Giannina, Erica and Malia Cipolloni and Ezekiel Brewer; brother Dr. Rudolfo Rubio of Chicago; sister Magdalena of the Philippines, and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded by his brother, Constante Rubia. Francisco retired from over 21 years of U.S. Navy and 20 years at Sony Corporation. Viewing at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd., San Diego, CA 92121, May 8-9, 2008, from 4-8 p.m. (Viewing) and Rosary Prayer May 9th at 6 p.m. Memorial Service will be May 10, 2008 at 10 a.m.

I thank God for the opportunity to meet such a gentle spirit. The 1st time we met, he offered a fruit tree for me to take home. My 2nd visit, he baked the best Salmon ever! He made me welcome in his home. Thank you Uncle Frank...you will be missed.

I am so sorry I cannot be there at the service to honor Mr. Rubia. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I feel very blessed that he was a presence in my life for so long growing up. He will be dearly missed. My deepest condolences.
