1934-2014
Donald Everett Daymude, 79, of Oxnard, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2014.
Donald is survived by his wife Misako, sons David and Michael Daymude, siblings Gary, Kathy, John, Rebecca and Sharon, three grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Don was born in Victoria, Illinois, into a family of farmers, attending Galva High School, class of 1952. He entered the Air Force in 1953 and was stationed in Fukuoka, Japan as an MP. There he met his wife, Misako Nonaka, and they married, 57 years ago. Returning to the states in with his new bride in 1960, he worked as a computer operator, programmer and supervisor for the Air Force until retiring in 1974.
After a few years working at Cottage Hospital, Don took a new job at Santa Barbara Research Center in 1977. He later was hired by Paychex and became a operations supervisor, where he worked until his retirement in 2007. Don was a resident of Oxnard for 27 years, and very much enjoyed bowling, fishing, and golf. Since his retirement, he has been an active virtual farmer in Farmville, gathering his geographically distant family together to play and stay in touch in Facebook. His long-standing expertise with computers made him an active and knowledgeable mentor to friends and family in the internet age.
Don will be remembered as a friendly and big-hearted man, whose hearty laugh and warm smile delighted all who knew him. Courageously battling various health problems over the last decade, Don kept his sense of humor and optimism, and was always there for his family. He felt his greatest achievement was being a good provider for those he loved, and he was especially proud of his sons and his grandchildren. An active grandfather, he was there for every birthday and holiday, and will be sorely missed as advisor, mentor and friend.
Services will be held at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura, California at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 2. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.

Don was a wonderful father-in-law to me and a sweet, caring, generous person. He never took himself too seriously and was fun to be around. Family was so important to Don and he never let distance or other hurdles keep him from visiting with and spoiling family, especially the grandkids who he loved dearly. Misako was the love of his life and they spent many happy years together, growing their family and making beautiful memories. He will be missed so very much.

Misako, David, Michael and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. It was with great sadness that we heard Big D had passed.
We were fortunate to know him. I was honored to call him family...work family that is for the better part of a decade or so.
He spent many an early morning up front at the office as I opened up for early pickup clients. He so loved speaking of what the grandkids were up to, what trip was coming up and what type of car "Mama" was thinking of getting. He may not have let you in on his secret Mickii, but he LOVED the way you shopped for pocket books! It always made him smile when on a Monday morning over coffee he could report,"Mama found what she wanted".
Big D made my life in A/R and Admin. a better and more streamlined place to work because of his presence, knowledge, support and lilistening ear.
Thank you Mickii for sharing Don and for your loving support of potlucks, events when your famous fried rice was required and for helping to make Year-End, year after year so very special with your homemade cookies. Big D always made sure mine were walnut free. The goodies you brought me from the L. A.markets are scattered about my home, he liked to brag that he supported my frog habit!
Steven was so pleased that you would use a picture we took at your 50 th in the paper, this is the happy pain free Don we will remember.
May all of your fond memories help sustain you now. Our Love
