He was such an asset to our MoveOn Group in Boulder. I loved it that I could just call and talk with him about politics. What a wonderful human being! He was in my life, thank you.

My husband, Rob Knowlton, met Don when we moved to Gilpin County and got to know him through volunteering with the Democratic Party. Don was such a kind and gentle man, and we both appreciated his warmth, humor and good nature. Rob died last November and I like to imagine Don and Rob hanging out together and once again enjoying each other's company. My heart goes out to all his family and dear friends.

I am not sure I ever knew a gentler soul than Don. He was truly an example of a real gentleman and an earth/nature loving person who cared about the things in life that matter. I was one of the lucky class of 1964 graduates who attended the 50th reunion and had the pleasure of re-meeting Don (my senior prom date!) Fortunately my husband and I got to visit with Don and Toni a couple years ago in Denver. He was a real trooper as he dealt with his health issues with his characteristically calm style.
I am honored to have known him. Peace, my friend.

We will all miss that "million dollar smile" along with Don´s incredible respect for others. His upbeat demeanor in a troubled world was a welcome respite. Don showed up!
He was the kind of human we should all strive to be: thoughtful, kind, fun, courageous, and simply a gift to be around. His leaving us was a very sad day indeed.

What great guy Don was. We were classmates at CLCHS and spent much time doing our thing. Seeing him at 50 th reunion was special and visits this past 2 yrs. So sorry to hear of Dons loss. We called him Bud at CL. Our 2 high school cars were well known. We all knew his super pickle. Sorry will not get out to Calif. Wish all of his buddies could make it. Take care family. Am so sorry for your loss
