Our Uncle Don was the best. He loved his family big. So many memories that will be in my heart forever.
After he came home from Vietnam my dad, Joe, his oldest brother told him to move in with us and he could work for dad until he figured out what to do with his life. He eventually moved on to Goodland,KS, then to Denver. We were just kids when he lived with us, but we thought he was the coolest Uncle ever. He had a beautiful light blue, white leather top convertible. It was always fun when he'd take us girls uptown to drive around. We thought we were pretty cool---well we were with him.
He's always been there for all of our family and that we are grateful for.
I know Sherry, Darren, Jay and their families have a big hole in their hearts and will miss him so much. But the memories they hold in their hearts are their's to keep and he will always be with them.
Love your forever, Uncle Don.

Don
Today is the Celebration of life for our dear friend Don Dinkel. A man we have come to know and love. A man that has brought so much happiness and joy to our lives. We met Don and Sherry over 27 years ago when we first came to Colorado. Rented a home from them and then made it our own. Their Century 21 office in Thornton was the place I choose to hang my license without interviewing another office! Even though I grew up with a realtor and an investor, Don got me into my first investment property! I still have the net sheet, marked Sample that he used to help me understand vacancy and all the rest! It turned out to be just what Jackie and I needed in our paycheck to paycheck life. He reminded me so much of my Daddy! Don and I had some of the best conversations about business, money and investments. He made me laugh and I know I made him laugh often! Such a dumb blonde I could be at times. I could talk to him like no other and he got it!!
Our lives took us in different directions but we always enjoyed when we ran into each other. About 4-5 years ago we connected again with an impromptu pop-by at the lake. JD and I have had the pleasure and honor of spending a lot of time with Don and Sherry these past few years and we are so grateful. Watching Don and Jackie sit and talk about everything and anything for hours at a time, not even knowing if we were there or not, gave Sherry and I so much joy. The laughter, the meals, the time together, we will forever be grateful for.
We will miss you Don Dinkel and think of you often. Our hearts go out to Sherry, Jay, Darren and the entire Dinkel family.
God Bless you all!

We feel so honored to have known Don for so long! He was such a bright light in this world, and he will be missed by so many. Some of our best memories were when we were with him and his family. Rest In Peace always Don.

Don is no longer physically here .. but he is here! In our hearts and in the memories created over the years. What a legend he is to many of us! He helped us buy our 1st home... he taught us about the hole in the lake and about "watering" in the wind! Sherry, Jay, Darren and the rest of the family.. love and hugs. Everything hurts right now.. the loss of a spouse and the loss of a parent is one of the toughest things to maneuver through.. you have each other thankfully! What a blessing! Don always could get anyone to smile... love you!

In the short time I was privileged to know Don I quickly realized how much he loved his family and his family´s friends. He opened his home to almost everyone and I remember sitting on the balcony of his lake house while he played his banjo like instrument and sang his songs. Don was a great man, husband, father and grandfather! I´ll always remember his generosity and love he shared for everyone! RIP!

For the family and friends of Don Dinkel : I am sorry that God has taken Don to be with him. Even though God has taken Don, he didn´t take the love you had in your heart for Don and he didn´t take your memories of him. With sympathy:
