Donald Blair Elkington, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 2, 2017, at his home. He was under the care of his family and Encompass Hospice.

He was born July 10, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Fred William Elkington and Helen Koy Frongner Elkington. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1966. He had additional training in small engines and diesel.

On August 16, 1968, he married Marian Colleen Carpenter in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born six children: Travis, Micki, Kelly, Eric, Andy and Merinda. Blair and Marian made their home in Idaho Falls, then they settled in the Osgood area where he farmed.

Blair was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings and the Scouting Program. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, leatherwork, gardening and farming. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Blair is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marian Elkington of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Travis (Megan) Elkington of Idaho Falls, ID: daughter, Micki (Jim) Garcia of Rexburg, ID; son, Kelly (Camille) Elkington of Milo, ID; son, Eric (Heidi) Elkington of Sugar City, ID; son, Andy (Kayla) Elkington of Boise, ID; daughter, Merinda Elkington of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Randy (Pam) Elkington of Mapleton, UT; sister, Susan (Tim) Serr of Blackfoot, ID; sister, Shauna (Dalenor) Halls of Gilbert, AZ; stepbrother, Scott (Carol) Hill of Orem, UT; stepbrother, Dennis (Rebecca) Hill of Richmond, WA; stepsister, Kathy Shirts of Idaho Falls, ID; stepsister, Debbie Hill of Orem, UT; stepsister, Janice Hill of Orem, UT; 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Joyce Elkington; and parents- in-laws, Verl and Colleen Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Osgood Ward Building, (7940 N. 35th West) with Bishop Danielson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.

Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
