FEATHERSTONE Donald Arthur Donald Arthur Featherstone, age 85, of Toledo, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 14, 2007, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Toledo Center surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born on March 20, 1922, in Toledo, OH to Samuel J. and Maud (Upton) Featherstone who have preceded him. Donald was a 1941 graduate of Dundee High School after which he married his high school sweetheart, Mildred Rowland in 1941. Mildred went to be with the Lord October 13, 1958. He joined the Navy during World War II; he attended Naval Flight School in Norman, OK. He proudly served his country in the Philippines. Donald's country is eternally grateful for his sacrifice of service and is assured that we will never forget. Donald was blessed again in love and married Mary (Heath) on April 20, 1968. Donald was a Motor Carrier Sgt. for the Michigan State Police, he retired in 1984. He was a member of the Monroe Missionary Baptist Church since 1958. Donald's legacy is his family who will cherish the wonderful memories they made together; they include, his wife, Mary; children, Tom (Genny) Featherstone, Sarasota, FL and Ruth Ann (Charles) McPeek, Monroe, MI; stepchildren, Orran Ray (Nancy) Heath, Point Place, and Kristine (Don) Gilsdorf, Maumee, OH; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grand-children; and 1 great-great-grand-child. Donald was reunited with his parents and granddaughter, Jill Featherstone. There will be a private Memorial Service at Toledo Memorial Park. David R. Jasin Funeral Home, Inc., 5300 N. Summit St. (419.726.1583) is assisting the family. Those choosing to make a contribution in Donald's memory are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
