Donald Fisher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 20, 2025.
Donald Fisher, 90, passed away on July 5, 2025, in Huntington Beach, California.

He was born on January 27, 1935, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the youngest of 3 children born to Jack and Jane Fisher. After moving to California when he was 11, Donald dedicated his life to education and family. His career began in the classroom as an elementary school teacher, where he nurtured young minds with patience and dedication. Over time, his commitment to learning and leadership led him to become a principal within the Los Angeles Unified School District. His influence spanned generations of students and educators alike.

Donald shared a long (64 years!) and loving marriage with his wife, Dollie. They met while they both attended Cal State Los Angeles, and together they raised two children: their son David and daughter Diana. He also welcomed Philip into the family as a son-in-law in 2006. In addition to being a devoted husband and father, Donald took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Robert, Jake, Aiden, and Ryan. He was also known as Uncle Donald to the many nephews and nieces who adored him.

Outside of his professional life, Donald found joy in fishing, going to casinos, traveling, playing (and often winning) monopoly and spending time with his beloved family and friends.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Funeral will be held on August 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 20400 Magnolia St and interred at Good Shepherd Cemetary in Huntington Beach.
