When I was riding my bike to the train station Don would be running on St Johns Avenue and we would stop and talk until I had to dash to the train. What a nice guy Don was! I remember our lunch group and walking down the sidewalk as he drove his "vehicle" to have our pizza and discuss baseball. Fondly. Jack Marks

My condolences to Gail and the Goldstein family. Don was a wonderful warm-hearted soul and a joy to know. He was quiet in conversation, but consequently listened to, and appreciatively for his good sense and kindly demeanor.
Many mornings Don would meet with us at the Lincoln Crossing on the Green Bay Trail in Highland Park at 6 AM, to run six or eight miles. I remember the Lake County Marathon 1981, when Don started at a sensible pace and at 20 miles, he passed me looking like a hard charging locomotive and finished at about 3 1/4 hours. May Don's memory be a blessing for all his loved ones. Alava Scholem.
