Donald Jackson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 24, 2025.
Donald "Jumpy" Gordon Jackson, 82, of Henderson, NV formerly of Aurora, IL and Batavia, IL passed away on March 26, 2025, after brief but significant illnesses. He was born on November 25, 1942, in Aurora, IL to Donald F. and Dorothy M. (Saunders) Jackson.

Don attended Fairview High School in Boulder, CO, West Aurora High School in Aurora, IL, Western Military Academy in Alton, IL and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Don was enlisted in the Army National Guard in both Colorado and Illinois, where he was called to Active Duty during the 1968 Chicago Democratic National Convention civil riots. Retired at the time of his death, Don excelled in his lifetime career as a car salesman and, later, Sales Manager, winning many awards and accolades.

His passion had always revolved around cars. He owned many during his lifetime and would frequently wash and wax them with great care. He also had a passion for Corvettes and Honda racing, collecting autographed car models, patches and baseball caps. He also loved watching the Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears. Prior to his illness, he could often be found at the Sun City Anthem community center walking the track, visiting the Veteran's Club or the Computer Club.

Don's greatest asset was his lifetime circle of friends: Tony Policandriotes, Bill Hankes, Ben Perez Jr, John Banbury, Mike Katz, Don Davis, and John Matko.

Don is survived by his daughter, Kristin (Mark) Dittman of Henderson NV, nieces Shelley Hupp of Annapolis, MD and Stacey (Jim) McDonald of Cherry Hills Village, CO and nephew Scott (Libby) Crouch of Boulder, CO. Don is preceded in death by his wife Sandra Kay Jackson, his parents Donald and Dorothy Jackson of Aurora, IL and his sister Diane Crouch of Highlands Ranch, CO.

Burial was held on April 14, 2025, at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV, arranged by Davis Funeral Home.

The family would like to express a warm and heartfelt thank you to Nathan Adelson Hospice and all the doctors, nurses, hospital staff and friends who cared for Don during his illness.

Jump, You started down the road in your youth and were joined by your buddies building a bar in your basement that was too tall for all of us, driving down Downer in your '54 Ford and then in your series of beautiful 'Vettes. You excelled at sales and all of your co-employees that I talked to spoke highly of you, in fact, one called you "The Man". You found happiness with Sandy. and sadness when you lost her. Kristen, who you loved as if she was you own, brought you joy and took care of you in your last illness. You were always a loyal friend to all your buddies. The end of the road came too soon, I'm glad you didn't suffer very long, so goodby old friend see you on the other side, R.I.P. JB
