Donald A. Johns, 61, of Wendel, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at home. He was born Jan. 31, 1946, in McKeesport, a son of the late Frank and Helen (Maguire) Johns. Prior to his retirement, Don had worked for Bud Smail Lincoln Mercury, in Greensburg, as a service adviser for more than 15 years. He had also worked at the Herminie Auto Parts Store for the past 40 years. He was a 1964 graduate of Sewickley Area High School, in Herminie, and was active in planning the class reunions. Don was very proud to be a member of the Pa. State Bowling Association Handicap Team and was on the championship team in 1986. He loved to bowl and enjoyed camping with his family and friends. Don is survived by his wife of 39 years, Eileen (Anzur) Johns, of Wendel; two sons, Greg Johns and his wife, Holly, of Huntington Station, N.Y., and Keith Johns and his wife, Juliet, of Bethel Park; two granddaughters, Katrina and Talia Johns; two brothers, his twin Ronald Johns and his wife, Toni, of Brunswick, Ohio, and Frank David Johns and his wife, Janet, of Herminie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Don is also survived by his best buddy, Max. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Dale Roddy officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Donald A. Johns Fund, c/o Eileen Johns, P.O. Box 126, Wendel, PA 15691.
