I just learned of the passing of Don Maitlin. I met Don at dr Alves office in Hollywood Florida where we were both being treated for multiple myeloma. I would sit next to him In treatment. We definitely had a great time despite the circumstances. He was fun and funny. We were kindred spirits. I was diagnosed at the young age of 46 and told Don how lucky I thought he was to be diagnosed at an older age. He was a lot of fun and told me some great stories from his past. He spoke of his kids and I found out he had a famous daughter. He truly loved his family. One day I asked him how he was feeling. He said "like I got run over by a truck". While I'm sure it was true we both laughed. Don was a great guy and I enjoyed spending time with him.
