Beloved husband of Beryl (Bassett) McFadden. Loving father of Robert McFadden predeceased, Leslie Vagnini, Barbara Beaton (Brian). Loving Papa to Erin Vagnini, Alison Vagnini, Tamara Beaton, Don Beaton and Scott Beaton. Loving uncle to Colleen, Dave, Rob and Susan of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mickey was an avid curler, golfer and huge fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Mickey's loyalty to the sport industry had a huge impact on both Northern Ontario curling and golfing. He was the driving force behind many golfing and curling events with proceeds going towards charities such as the Northern Cancer Foundation. As well, Mickey was one of the founders of the Chip in for Charity annual charitable golf tournament whose proceeds continue to this day to go towards the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Mickey was inducted into the Sudbury Sport Hall of Fame in 2003 for his endless efforts towards sports in the north. Mickey's accolades spread throughout the years that encompassed the 1983 Labatt Brier, The Tournament of Hearts, founder of competitive curling leagues in Ontario from Thunder Bay all the way to Ottawa, Hamilton and London. Mickey was an instrumental member of the Sudbury Community as well as other cities throughout the North. Mickey was well known for the witty nicknames he bestowed on others, his love for his furry friends, his passion towards life and others and his sarcastic humour. He will be missed by so many people throughout the North and West. He will always remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Special thanks would like to be extended to the staff at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
