Donald Morris Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 25, 2022.
Donald Morris lived on our earth for 85 years with many of those years in Independence Missouri. Born at the family residence near Warrensburg, Missouri on January 24th, 1937, he was the eldest son of Troy and Pauline (McCormack) Morris. After graduating from East High School in Kansas City, Missouri, he entered the United States Coast Guard serving his country for several years. After leaving the Coast Guard, he joined his father in working for the US Postal Service until retirement. He met his match with a woman named Sigrid whom he has been married to for 60 years. He enjoyed their lake home, gardening tomatoes, traveling, freshwater and deep sea fishing, family dinners, and good times with friends. Don is survived by his wife, Sigi and their children Christina, Kathy (husband JJ), Derek (wife Paula), grandson Thomas, and brother Lee (wife Sue). He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his kindness and giving nature, his enjoyment of visiting with friends, both old and new, and for his love of his many furry "grandchildren." In lieu of gifts, the family requests donations to Furry Kids Refuge of Lee's Summit in honor of his beloved dog Lilu.

So sorry to hear the news of Donnie's passing. He was always one of the most cordial and kindest people I have ever met and was honored to have him as a family member. I know he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
