Remembering Don and all the laughs he brought to our family gatherings, thinking of you Sharon today 5/3/2023 and sending you my love

Dear Sharon,
I heard about your loss from Amy about 1 week ago. I am so very sorry. I know from all our talks at the salon, how much the two of you loved each other. He will never really be gone, he is just transformed and waiting for you one day. His mission here is done and he begins his reward for a good life lived. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this time. We lost our 35 yr old sister in law last summer and we know somewhat the pain involved with a sudden loss. May God watch over you and guide you, and give you the strength to face each new day. Take care. Love, Maureen Lee

Dear Sharon,
I heard about Don's passing thru a mutual friend. I just wanted to say I am truly sorry for your loss. I know how much you loved Don and though we have not seen or spoken to each other for a very long time,I wanted you to know how sorry I am. I know this must be very difficult for you. Losing someone you love is not easy and sometimes you think you will never be able to go on, but you must believe that Don is in a much better place and will always be there to watch over you and your family. We lost my father in law going on two years ago and it is still very painful, but remember that you will be able to make it thru with Don's strength from above - and because of the love he had for you. Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that with each passing day you will find the inner strength and peace that you need to carry on.
Sincerely,
Sharon & Tory Giammanco

Sharon,
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you, Butch and I wish this didn't happen to two sweeter people. You both have so much love for each other and it showed. We loved how you and Don would TELL us we are meeting for breakfast on those early saturday mornings, we would roll out of bed, and you and Don would have already put in a full 10 mile ride on the path! We will always cherish those memories! Don't you worry, we will still meet up to listen to American English on those beautiful summer nights, Don won't be sitting with us, he will be jamming on the stage! He will always be your Gaurdian Angel forever!! We love you Sharon and we will always be there for you, for anything! Don was a great man, and he Loved you so much! We are so sorry that he had to be taken from you so soon, but that just means that he is off on yet another one of God's Missions! He will always be with you, like YOU said, "In Spirit!"
Love Always

Don was a really good guy and I will really miss all our lively conversations about the White Sox here at 500 N. Michigan. I am only glad he was able to experience their winning season last year. We will miss him.

Dear Sharon,
You have our deepest sympathies.
It is difficult finding words during this time. This feels like a very bad dream that we all cannot wake up from.
We are so greatful to have been able to share so fully in Don's last day of life. Who would have known? I hope you find the comfort that I have in knowing how we spent that day - together as a family - In sharing our faith at Adam's 1st Holy Communion Mass, where, by the guidance of our pastor Fr. Brennan, we received absolution in reconcilliation and the chance to be "born again" ...and Adam was able to hear from Don what he loved most about him...how often do familiy members take the opportunity to share that deeply? It was a gorgeous day - not a cloud in the sky - and our kite flew so high. Thank you Don for helping to get it out of the tree for us ... and for being a such a good sport when the boys tied you up!
God's grace reaches us at all times. If we can live everyday of our lives like the last day of Don's life, then he will not have died in vein...
What I really need to say to you Sharon is take one step at a time - hold God's hand; He will lead you where you need to go. Know that no matter where you are right now, He will make a path for you that will lead you where you need to be. As you walk with Him, know you are never alone - not only is He always with you - we are also - your family. We love you and are here for your every need.
Don was a good man, taken too soon. Surely, he will be missed.
We love you,
your sister Sandy, Ernie and Adam VanStedum
