Donald RICHARDSON Obituary

Published by Calgary Herald from Jun. 1 to Jun. 2, 2018.
RICHARDSON, Donald Edward
September 29, 1954 - May 9, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Don on May 9, 2018, in Edmonton, AB, leaving all who knew and loved him in a state of disbelief. He will be so missed by so many. Don was a caring, considerate and generous man, content with his life. His work ethic dictated that a man put in a full day's work, and more, if required, reflecting the values and habits of his parents. His love for his daughter, Krystal- Lee, was boundless, and the arrival of his grandson, Elliot, happily completed his family circle. Unselfishly, and with true devotion, Don cared for his partner, Karen, until her passing in 2012. His passion for dismantling and rebuilding vehicles resulted in many successful projects through the years. Don worked for Coltons Consulting & Maintenance for 20+ years, and resided in Winfield, AB. Left to mourn his passing are his daughter, Krystal-Lee Richardson and fiancé Luke Turgeon, and his grandson Elliot; stepdaughters Brieana (Mark) Malone and Denise Measor (daughter Lilyana, son Nikko), sister Marlene Bigg and nephews Steven, Matthew (Aly Sidders), and Patrick (Kristin Simpson) Bigg, as well as cousins Walter (Olive) Amos, Brenda (Alan) Dougherty, Lawney Gordon, and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his partner, Karen Buehler, mother, Emily Richardson, fathers George Beecroft and Wallace Richardson, brother, Ken Beecroft, and brother-in-law, Gary Bigg. A Memorial Service and reception will be held at McDougall United Church, 8516 Athabasca St SE, T2H 1S1 Calgary, on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.

Just recently heard of Don's passing. Was so sorry to hear...my condolences to the family. We knew each other many years ago in Calgary through DeMolay and Job's Daughters. Always remember his smile.

I have known Don since High School. I learned to drive standard in his SS Chevy Nova and a motorbike on his Honda 450. Don was a kind and gentle person who was always willing to do for others. I have many fond memories of Don and all the adventures we had.
Don was an amazing guy and I am glad I had the opportunity to have had him in my life. My deepest condolences to Dons family and loved ones.

Don and myself became very good friends, we started out as vendor and customer and over the past 7 years we became friends. Shock and sadness doesn't truly explain the loss that is felt, my condolences to the family and friends of Don.
