Rizzo, Donald L.
passed away from a long battle of heart disease on Nov. 17, 2022. Donald was proud to have spent his early life on 'The Hill'. He loved the area where he made lifelong friends and memories. He attended St. Ambrose grade school playing soccer and worked at area restaurants. He went on to develop several businesses. Along with his brother Mike, in 1987 he opened the well known and successful restaurant, Rizzo's South County. He was a strong defender of his employees and became a valuable businessman in the local SOCO community. He was a fan of the Cardinals, Blues and golf.
He is preceded in death by his father John Rizzo and mother Helen. Loving father to Devra Brandon (Steve). Proud grandfather to Garrett and Lucas Brandon, loving siblings, Debbie Rizzo, Michael Rizzo and John Rizzo. Uncle to Michael Rizzo Jr. (Elecia) and Sarah Rizzo.He was a loyal friend to many and loved by his employees.
Services: Visitation Friday, Nov. 25, 2022 4-8 p.m. Kutis South County. Mass Saturday, Nov. 26 10 a.m. St. Ambrose Church 5130 Wilson Ave. With Don's love for children, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
