Donald James Rutledge

Donald James Rutledge, 74, of Pleasant Grove passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004 with his family at his side.He was born April 8, 1930 in Eureka, Utah to Ernest L. and Zola Gray Rutledge. He married Leone Olsen on October 28, 1953 in Spanish Fork.Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.


Don grew up in Lehi and attended school there.He and Leone moved to Pleasant Grove in 1958 where they raised their four children.


Dons love of life was his family, woodworking, and gardening. His grandchildren were his greatest joy and he and Leone spent many days traveling the state to watch them participate in sports and other school events.


He is survived by his wife Leone and four children: Jolene (Floyde) Greenwood, Price; Brent (Marianne) Rutledge, Lehi; Janette (Kay) Fitzgerald, Delta; Karl (Julie) Rutledge, St. George; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren;and sister, Lela (Clyde) Averett, Springville. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glen.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Stake Center, 800 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove.Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to services.Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
