Don was my teacher at the U of Kentucky, a warmer person (with longer vowels :-)) I never met!

As a fellow parent of a founding Red Orchid Theatre ensemble member, I know that Dr. Shannon's support and contributions were always appreciated. His supportive interest will be missed.

I remember Don from when we first came here for grad school. Used to run into him at alfalfas some days when I went there. He never forgot who I was. I remember Stonewall too. Jerry and he went to DePaul around the same time I think. I know u were one of his mentors Don.

Ellen and the Shannon Family:
A good man has gone to his rest. There is no doubt that Don had a profound impact on the academic environment of many students and those aspiring to the world of accounting and finance.
May he rest in eternal peace.

Don, I will always remember you as a great teacher, scholar, colleague, and especially, friend. It was over 39 years ago the we first met as newly minted PhDs and began this long friendship. Your dedication to teaching and leaning was exempliary -- hundreds of students profited tremendously from your instruction and guidance. My heart goes out to Ellen, Stacey, Gail and Michael for their loss.

Don was always absorbed in his world of finance and politics-ready for a good conversation; but most importantly Don was a kind, inclusive person always ready to listen. He had that Southern charm.

Stacy and Gail,
I am sorry about your Dad's passing. When I lived at 779 Cindy Blair Way, he and I were writing dissertations at the same time.
You moved to Mt. sterling, and I lost contact with you and your Mother Ginger. I still have good memories about seeing you play on the equipment in your back yard.
Bless you as you adjust to the loss of your Dad.
