Donald Ray Sharp Sr.

Donald R. Sharp Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2023 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Sharp was born in Forrest City, Arkansas on August 27th, 1940, to Florence Evelyn and Samuel Morris Sharp.

Mr. Sharp and his family later moved to McComb, Mississippi where he graduated from McComb High School. After graduating, Mr. Sharp joined the military for a few years then married the love of his life on January 26th, 1962. 10 years after they were married, they adopted their son together. Mr. Sharp worked at MacMillan Bloedel for most of his adulthood until he retired at the age of 59 to come home and take care of his beautiful wife as she was bedridden. He was a wonderful spouse to his wife, Ethel Sharp, a genuine friend to everyone that he met, a devoted father, and a loving grandfather and great grandfather.

His hobbies included spending time with his family, fishing, spoon feeding and spoiling his three dogs, loving on and talking to his chickens, going to bingo on Wednesday nights, and being with his church family on Sundays. Mr. Sharp was a devoted member of Trinity United Church.

Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his life partner, Ethel Sharp, parents Florence Evelyn and Samuel Morris Sharp, and many brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his son, Donald Sharp Jr., grandchildren: Jessica Sharp, Samantha Baumgartner, and Jacob Baumgartner, great grandchildren: Ainsleigh Baumgartner, Elliott Baumgartner, and Levi Baumgartner; two sisters, and niece Julie Nelson.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
