Don, my Heart breaks that you and Jackie/family will not get to enjoy retirement together. Over 30 years ago when I started at Ford Motor Co, you were a source of wisdom and encouragement and that never changed. I will Never forget the many dinners at Lorenzos downstairs....I swear the first time you took me there I thought we were going to get mugged....you assured it was worth the trip and as always You were right. Dinners , golf and evenings spent telling stories over a drink too numerous to count. 34 years of business between Ford and Bank of America. Know that you were admired , trusted , respected and dare I say loved like a brother.....RIP my friend

Our thoughts & prayers go out to the Slipp Family. Don was a long time friend of my husband, Bob Twining, who passed away in 2012 and we both worked with him over the years. Don was a good man that was respected by so many & one of the very best in the Auto Industry. Don will be sadly missed.

My sympathy and prayers to Jackie, Dana, Jamie and the Slipp family. Don is a man whose deeds will speak highly of his life. Not many people have such a positive impact on so many lives. He was the loyalist friend and gave generously to all in need. He rescued many when their lives were at a crossroads. My eternal Thanks to Don, for supporting me with his friendship when my life was in turmoil at home and at work. My words can not come close to saying how grateful i am for his friendship. God Bless you Don, and your family. May they always remember you with love and a smile of so many times good times you brought to all their lives.l

I enjoyed both a professional and personal relationship with Don. There's no doubt that he understood all aspects of the auto business and it was a pleasure to work with him.

He was truly one of a kind. Don's quick wit, generosity, and thoughtfulness will not be forgotten. I am proud to have known him. My thoughts and prayers go to Don's family and friends. Godspeed, Don.

He will be missed terribly.

As a rookie police officer, I walked into Winner Ford for a customer dispute!
Not liking the outcome of my decision Don intervened, I mean put me in my place!!
We became close friends for 28 years after that initial Alpha male confrontation.
He was generous, honest, professional, knew the definition of gratitude and never said no to his friends or people in need and ALWAYS a strong supporter of Police & Fire Depts ...
No Doubt he will be missed by many many people.
Peace, Prayers & Blessings My Friend.
