Dear Rosie, Dawn and Family,
I am sincerely sorry to have just gotten the news of Duck's accident. I wish I could have shared in the ceremony honoring his life. He sure was my favorite... funny, kind, generous cousin. Although I did not have the opportunity to see him (or Dawn) often...they always greeted me with a big smile and a big bear hug! I will miss him.My prayers are with you all at this time.

Dawn, Just wanted to let you know how much we are going to miss "OUR DUCK". It is so hard to beleive that he will not be stopping by to check up on us or are cabin. Duck and you are family to us and he will be forever missed by all of us.
I am going to miss mostly his laugh and the Bear hugs he would give and just his smiling face, this is very hard for me to deal with, I'm sure as well for you and the family. God bless and we are there for you. You and Duck have been wonderful neighbors and have done so much for every one in our little commuity there. Bonnie & Terry

DAWN, TIM, ROSIE, & FAMILY,
OH MY GOD, I AM JUST NUMB TO THINK OF HIS PASSING. I ALSO AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE HAD HIM IN MY PATH OF LIFE. OH HE WAS SO GENUINE, SO LOVEABLE, AND I TRUELY DO NOT KNOW A PERSON WHO DID NOT LOVE DUCK. WHAT A WONDERFUL PERSON, AND I AM SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE SEEN HIS SMILING FACE AT HIS NEICE ERICA'S GRADUATION PARTY. I AM BLESSED TO HAVE HUGGED HIM ONE LAST TIME AND SEE HIS SMILE. THAT IS A WARMNESS HE HAD TO EVERYONE IN HIS PATH, TO BRIGHTEN OUR DAY. WE LIVED TOGETHER, WITH TIM, LISA, DUCK AND MYSELF IN A HOUSE IN CRYSTAL, MN AND HAD SUCH GREAT TALKS, MANY LAUGHS AND FUN TIMES WITH EVERYONE INCLUDING HIS LOVE OF HIS LIFE DAWN. OH HOW MY HEART HURTS FOR YOU DAWN. YOU CAN KNOW AND LIVE TO TELL WHAT LOVE IS. TIM I KNOW YOU ARE SADDENED BY THIS LOSS AS WELL AS YOUR SIBLINGS, AND ROSIE, OH MY GOSH, I CANT IMAGINE HOW YOU FEEL, BUT I AM VERY SORRY FOR ALL OF YOU. AS THE DAYS PASS, WE WILL KEEP HIS MEMORY CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS AND FEEL BLESSED TO HAVE HAD HIM IN OUR PATH AND A PART OF OUR JOURNEY BEFORE WE ARE LEAD HOME TO OUR MAKER. MAY DUCK REST IN PEACE.
LOVE & BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL

Dawn, I just got home from work and Martin told me the sad news. My mind is still reeling and I am just in shock .
My heart is broken in sadness for you and ultimately all of the rest of us too. Duck was one of a kind and I consider it a privelege to have been even a small part his life. He had such a soft heart, quick wit, and was so caring of everyone. Above all he loved you.
Believe me when I tell you that we are here for you. Come stay with us if you'd like or if there is anything we can do to attempt to help you through this please let us know. We love you too.

Duck was not a man you could judge by first appearances, however what you saw was what you got. He had no secrets and he’d tell you exactly what he thought. He might have looked burly and rough, but he was tender, loving and caring. He had a strong work ethic. He did all he could for his family and friends. He was reliable, honest and fair. I learned much from Duck. He knew how to love life and have fun. He loved his wife as all men should love their wives. I admired and respected him. Holidays, vacations, and special events won’t quite be the same without his barrel laugh, rosy cheeks and broad smile. I’m proud to have called Duck my brother-in-law—my friend. I’m saddened that I won’t have more years with him. I’m eternally grateful, however, I got to know him and love him—the big dummy. He will live on in my heart and my dreams. I wish him only the best in “Harley Heaven.”
