Donald St. Jean, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 19, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Donald St. Jean, Jr. on June 19, 2024 at the age of 57.

Born on February 8, 1967, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, he was the beloved son of Norma Thibeault Pratt and Donald St. Jean, Sr.

Fondly known as Don, he was an admired and respected member of the Orange, CA community. His vibrant personality and character will be greatly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his spouse Ronald Widick, his mother Norma Pratt, his father Donald St. Jean, Sr., fathers-in-law Robert Pratt and Dallis Widick, and mothers-in-law Gayla Widick, Suzanne Kuntz and Barbara St. Jean. Don is also survived by his brothers Kurt St. Jean, Travis Pratt, Rob Pratt, brother-in-law David Woodard, sisters Kelly Arrington, Tracy McHatten, and sisters-in-law Charissa Pratt, Kellie Woodard, and Susan St. Jean who will all mourn the loss of their cherished brother.

Don graduated from San Clemente HS in 1985 and earned his degree from California State University, Long Beach.

He started his career in property management under the tutelage of his father with DSJ Enterprise. Later, he established Aim Properties in Orange, CA, achieving much success.

A member of the California and Lido Island Yacht Clubs, Don loved the water since his early years. He spent his youth competing in water sports and as a lifeguard in Huntington Beach, CA. During his high school years at San Clemente HS, he emerged as a top water polo goaltender.

Don took pleasure in long drives throughout Southern California, taking in the sights and understanding the area's evolving needs.

Known for his love and care for family and friends, he held a cause dear to his heart of housing people in need. Years ago, Don and Ron supported the Rivas family-Juan, Will, and Marie Rivas-who are now considered family. Juan's and Marie's five children affectionately called Don "Grandpa."

Don was friendly and hospitable, with an incredible memory, effortlessly recalling experiences and friends' names throughout his life, reflecting his social warmth.

The greatest lesson Don shared was his unwavering love and care for others, always ready to lend a hand at any time of day.

His legacy is one of love, compassion, and empathy, which will forever resonate with those who were privileged enough to know him.

A life beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us as we remember and celebrate the life of Donald St. Jean, Jr.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. Donnie held a special place in our hearts, and we were so looking forward to seeing him in Maine, this summer. Tess and I had gone for a visit in California, when our girls were little and Donnie offered to drive us to Tijuana Mexico, for the day. We walked around the shops and had dollar margaritas and "dog meat tacos". He drove us back to California at breakneck speed and we still talk about what a crazy and fun day we had!
Godspeed sweet prince.
