Donald C. Wallace passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 84 years of age. Donald was born to Kirkwood and Lucretia Wallace on January 26, 1940, in Long Beach, California. He was raised in Lomita, California, for most of his life. Donald graduated from Narbonne High School in 1958, where he was on the track team and helped with many wins for the Gauchos before attending Long Beach State University. He was also on the Lomita JC Chamber of Commerce.Don was employed by Virco Mfg in Torrance, California, as division controller for 28 years, where he met his wife, Barbara. They were married for 38 years and always looked forward to college football games. In retirement, he enjoyed the ocean, dice games, playing cards, bingo, and going on walks. Don's favorite things were sitting on his porch with Bailey (man's best friend), listening to his jazz, and talking to neighbors and passersby. Most notably, he became the treasurer of the Lomita Goodtimer's Senior Citizens Club. He looked forward to the weekly events and joking around. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; twin brother, Ronald (Rosalind); his Bailey; his daughter, Patricia Wallace; stepsons, Joseph & Ronald Kammerer; his granddaughters, Daisy and Leah; nephew, Richard Wallace; niece, Debbie Hammond and their families. Don was a man of humor and respect and a gentleman who passed peacefully at home from cancer. His wife and family were with him. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital @ Stjude.org. St Jude provides extraordinary impacts on children living with cancer and other illnesses. Barbara would like to thank the Agape Hospice for the outstanding support, care and assistance during Don's brief illness. He will be dearly missed.

Don Wallace will be dearly remembered. I was fortunate enough to have Don as an uncle. I will always remember his sense of humor. He often had that twinkle in his eye like he is mentally preparing for his next joke. I respected him for many reasons. He was a good brother to my dad Ron. We will miss him so much but are grateful for the 84 years he lived.

Don was a wonderful stepfather and a wonderful husband to my mother Barbara. He was always there for all of us, with laughter, guidance and his heart.
He will be missed dearly.

Don and his brother Ron were track participants at Narbonne High. Don always said that Ron never beat him. I said, what. Yeah, were twins, so no one ever knew.

Always a good neighbor, willing to take Arda to Bingo or entertain her with lunch or a movie - this includes Barbara. We would always have such fun neighborhood parties! He will be missed and thought of with fond memories.

We are genuinely going to miss Don as our neighborly neighbor. He has been the mainstay out on his porch loving to greet all the local block walkers. It was always reassuring knowing Don was looking out for us and our property. He had a witty light hearted humor that always made casual smalltalk enjoyable. Rest easy Don, thanks for lighting up our little corner of the World

Dear Barbara and family, we were very sad when we learned of Don's passing. We have happy memories of meeting for lunch at "Black Angus" for lunch and listening to his stories. Our thoughts are with all of the family. John and Marge McKeeve.

Don and I worked together in the late 1990s, and he was a distinctly honorable man -- a straight-shooter who was always honest and kind. I was glad to be his colleague, and lucky to have his help. It's good to read that he enjoyed a happy retirement -- he certainly earned it. My heart goes out to Barbara and their family. Rest in peace, Don.

I always looked forward to seeing Don on Thursdays at our Lomita Goodtimer's senior club. He was my friend and our treasurer, called bingo every week, and was so much fun to joke around with. He will be missed tremendously!
