Donald Welch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2025.
A beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and nephew.

Donald age 48, of Oak Forest, IL, formerly of Virginia Beach, Va. passed away on July 12, 2025.

His life was of family, hard work and play, as sports and being active were important to him. He became a roofer in his 20s, and then supervising manager for a prominent construction company. Struggling with health/heart issues for several years he gave it his best, against medical advice. Doing it his way, always saying "it's ok I got this"! His sense of humor was a constant source of uplifting for everyone who knew him.

His laugh was contagious and will be dearly missed.

Born on March 3, 1977, in Oak Lawn, IL to Karen and Timothy Welch. Don grew up playing baseball, basketball and beloved football in B.I.IL Becoming a coach himself of his sons teams, and then President of the football league in Virginia Beach, VA.

Don is survived by his children, grandson, and step son.

Nicolette Simpson, Donald Welch Jr, Keagan Welch, Devin Sidler, and grandson Anthony Smith.

Beloved son of Karen and Timothy Welch. Caring brother to Tim (Jen) Welch, Sean (Sam) Welch, and Dennis (Shanna) Welch.

Respected nephew and adored uncle to many. Loved cousin and friend to all who knew him! Donald you will be missed, and never forgotten. Be at peace!

Your struggles on earth are over! Rest in the arms of our Lord, until we meet again.
