A son of Anthony and Rosette Bruno, he was born March 31, 1923, in Indiana.
He was a member of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in Lucernemines.
He served in the U.S. Army's 44th Division during World War II and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He belonged to American Legion Post 493 in Homer City, VFW Post 1989 in Indiana, Knights of Columbus Lodge 10960 in Lucerrnmines and the Red Barn Sportsman's Club. He was a founding member of the Homer City Boosters.
He was the former owner and operator of the Happy Hour Cafe, until his retirement in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Walker Bruno, Homer City; three children, Marlee, Mount Lebanon; Sandra Ryan and husband Michael, Albany, N.Y.; and Anthony Jude, Penn Run; a sister, Tillie Liggett, Homer City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Richard; and a brother, Francis.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Lucernemines, with the Rev. Monsignor Larry Kiniry as celebrant. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
