Hi Mrs Han, Donny, Vivian - this is Bobby Choy, son of Insook Choy, and friend to Vivian and Donny. I heard from my family of the passing of Mr Han. My most sincere condolences to you all, and for the delay in my response. I don't know if you knew, but I used to bump into Mr Han periodically at Census during my 5 yr tenure there. I often think of him and his service to work, his family, and friends.Growing up w Vivian, hanging out at your Bethesda house, and seeing Mr Han - all smiles. brings back fond and much missed memories. Please take care and God bless! Bobby Choy

Mrs. Han, Donny and Vivian; I worked with Dong for years 21 at NOAA. I am sorry to hear about his "graduation" to glory for he will be greatly missed! I am also sorry that I missed his services as I had a minor medical procedure on my eyes and couldn't drive. When I started at NOAA as a satellite contractor, Dong helped train me to manage the instruments on the satellites. He also helped me learn many skills involved with launching new satellites that I still use. After I became a gov't employee, Dong always helped translate the "red tape" during my first few years of employment. On a personal note, I was always impressed that he devoted so much time to his family, his church and the mission field. It was his influence that encouraged me to get more involved with missions at my own Baptist church. I would like to offer my condolences to you and your family! Please remember 1 Thessalonians 4:13 - 18 and the Lord bless you all.

Dearest Mrs. Han, Donny, and Vivian,
I'm so sorry I missed the services. My parents called, but I was out of town and only drove back Thursday evening. He was the sweetest dad; not just to Donny and Vivian, to all of us growing up. I wish I had gotten to see him one last time, just to thank him. My sincerest condolences.

I best remember him as a colleague where his first statement would be you don't understand this instrument and after a time, and I do mean a time, both parties would come around to appreciate and respect each other. I worked with him for many years at NOAA, I was the spacecraft bus engineer and he was the payload engineer.

dear Mrs. Han and family,
I am saddened to learn about the sudden passing of your husband, father and grandfather. I worked together with him at NOAA for more than 10 years. Since we share a common last name, co-workers around the office jokingly referred to Dong as my older brother. My lasting impression of him will always be one of Dong as a happy presence around the office. I hope that many happy memories of times you spent together bring comfort at this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Jing Han

I worked with Mr. Han for many years in Suitland, prior to my own retirement from NOAA in 2006. He often came up to the operations floor where I worked, and we spent many hours discussing work-related and other topics. I enjoyed very much sharing thoughts and ideas with him and am deeply saddened by his passing. My condolences go out to his family at this time of loss.

Dong was one of the nicest men that I have ever known. He would always stop by to chat with me when he came to the ops floor. He was dedicated to his job and cared deeply about the operators that he worked with. We joked and teased each other regularly. He always seemed to have a smile on his face. The missionary work that he was a part of also was a subject that we spoke about. It was another example of his giving character. I have worked for many years at NOAA and knew Dong for over twenty years. He was a good, honest man who made the world a better place just by being who he was. Ron Rademacher, NOAA operations floor.

My deepest sympathies to the Han family. Dong would always come into work with great energy and love for his work. He would also tell me how proud he was of his children and grandchildren. It was a pleasure to work with with him.

I worked with Dong for several years when he first stated with the government back in the late 1970's after he came from GE. We were good friends and it is indeed a great loss. He was always proud of his children and talked often about them. We were cube mates for several years.
When I was laid off he worked diligently to get me back into the government and for that I will always be thankful.
