Donna Eileen Apple

Donna Eileen (Oxendine) Apple, 86, of Terre Haute has gone to be with our lord on Wednesday Aug. 5, 2009 suddenly from a massive stroke in Regional Hospital. She was born at home in Vigo County on Nov. 7, 1922 to Oscar and Edna (Clements) Oxendine. She worked on the family truck farm, Commercial Solvents and retired from Pfizer and Company in 1983. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She loved to eat out with her friends and play cards at the Shady Oak Club House. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Robert (Bob) Apple in 1992, whom she married in 1950; three brothers, Woody, Olen, and Bill Oxendine, and three sisters, Helen Coppess and Gladys Oxendine, and Bertha Moeller Reeder. She is survived by a son, Carl Frederick Apple and his wife Barbara of Riley; two daughters, Barbara Allen of Terre Haute and Judith Kepler of Indianapolis; one brother, Robert Oxendine of Prairieton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Funeral services are noon Saturday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Wheaton officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions can be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church.
