I first met Donna on the pickleball court at the Alfond Y. I had recently retired and was walking on the upstairs walking track when I saw people playing the game. I went down to ask if anyone can play and Donna was the first to say yes! Come join us, we'll teach you. I was forever hooked! I would also see her walking her dog afternoons in the summertime. She always had time to talk if you were in need of an ear, she will and is greatly missed at the Y and many other places.

I met Donna on the pickleball court in Waterville. She was always full of energy and had smiles for everyone. She was a good partner, never taking the game too seriously. Later I learned that she lived ~2 blocks from me. I enjoyed seeing her walking her dog, when we would occasionally chat. I miss seeing her and her wonderful smile.

What a lovely human being. I met her playing pickleball. I always enjoyed playing with her. She had a wicked spin shot. I was fortunate to a number of her popsicle stick creations. She was talented and artistic. Gone too soon.

One of the first places I visited when I moved to the Ville in 06 was Spell Bound. Donna was behind the desk, smiled, and we chatted cards. First thing I did when I got settled into my new place last year was hit Spell Bound. Donna was gaming in the side room...and we talked shop and it was like nothing changed. The smile was always there. The humor was always there. And the care was always there.

My wife and I first met Donna when we decided to play pickle ball in 2014. She helped us learn the game. We always called her "coach" after . She loved to joke around. We always asked her who she was each time. Donna or Coach. If she was having a good day she would say Coach. If the games were not going well she would say Donna. She showed us her talent of building her little village out of the sticks. She was always quick to laugh and smile. We were very sad when we heard she had passed.

Donna and my son James enjoyed battling it out playing Yu GI Oh, James mostly won, and Donna would say jokingly "Dammit James, quit cheating". She was always a good friend to James down at Spellbound and kept him in check. James will miss her for sure. Fly high Donna, your friends James D. and Cathy S.

I love my mother and miss her every day. Even now as I am going through this situation, I still find myself wanting to text her to ask questions. This won't be easy... ever.
