Donna Kurz (Handy) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 18, 2024.
Donna Kurz at the age of 61, on March 13, 2024 at 8 pm, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Since 2018 she fought ovarian cancer like a warrior but also managed to make the most out of life, she travelled and didn't miss an opportunity to socialize, not even cancer treatments slowed her down.

She will be forever missed by her husband Michael Kurz and her sons; Sean, Raymond (Brooke) and Bradley. Her daughters; Samantha (Anton), Victoria (Brendan), Christina (Mahdi), cherished grandmother to Brayden and Arian and soon to be Lily.

Predeceased by her mother Martha, father Fred, and brother Phil.

Lovingly remembered by her sister Sherri (Dave), her nieces; Angela (Ralph), Amanda (Dale) and Ashley (Shane); great nieces Sasha, Shyanne, Sierra, her many friends, her clients and co-workers at New Leaf.

She was many things to many people. Her love and positive attitude will be missed deeply - she definitely danced like no one was watching and lived her life with 'can do' spirit and tenacity.

Please direct donations to Margaret Bahen Hospice, a big thank you to the staff and volunteers for their excellent care and support.

A Celebration of her life will be held on

Sunday May 26 from 12pm to 4pm

Sutton Kin Hall 15 Fairpark Ln, Georgina, ON L0E 1R0

Donna and I met in highschool and went to NAIT together. We sang, laughed, supported, dances, shared and loved eachother greatly. She was a great friend, kind, caring, supportive and had an excellent sense of humor. She was indeed a fighter, unbelievably so. Much love to her and her family. Xox

I met Donna swimming in the Aquafit classes at Sutton Pool, and got to know her a little better through coffee afterwards at Tim Hortons. Despite facing remarkable adversity with her cancer diagnosis and treatment, she always maintained a positive and cheery attitude and a great ability to experience joy. She will be missed.

My aunt Donna, she was a force! She was always there when you needed her, always ready to try something new, adventurer for sure. She was quick and witty. Her strength was massive. My aunt Donna was a vibe! She set the tone of a room, she was the person that told you what you needed to hear even if you didn´t like it. She was a huge role model to so many. Her compassion and empathy made her a great co worker in her nursing carrier. Her spirit made her who she is. I am so grateful for the time we had with her. Gone way to soon. So very missed... a big void is placed in all of us for sure. She is the main reason I am who I am today! She loved me when I didn´t know how to love myself! Yup SOLID my aunt but you already know that!

Here is a poem I wrote her....
I´m Sorry.
I´m sorry this is happening, it´s not fair!

Your mom, sister, wife, aunt or friend. The emotions are real, hard and strong! I´m sorry.

She is my aunt as many would say that´s special... but to me she is so much more.
She is my friend. She is my mom when I need one and my sister when I am unsure of myself.

She has been my constant when I didn´t know I needed one. Losing my Grandma was hard she was my person.

But my aunt is so much more. Ang

God I miss this women. Always there! To my cousins, aunt and uncles and im so sorry...to anyone that was blessed to know her. I´m so sorry.

Gone but never forgotten.... Till we meet again. And Panzaratti will always be something I have delivered
