Donna Seley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 24 to Feb. 26, 2023.
June 2, 1949 - February 18, 2023 Sacramento, CA ? Donna R. Seley, age 74, passed away-with her daughters, Melissa and Jenny Seley, by her side-on February 18, 2023 in Sacramento, CA, after suffering a brain aneurysm. She was born June 2, 1949 to Mildred and Ben Williamson in Carmichael and graduated from Mira Loma High School in 1967. After marrying Dennis Seley in Sacramento in 1968, she went on to raise three children: Jeff, Melissa and Jenny. She was a mother at her core, through and through.

Innately and infinitely generous, she was devoted to the families of the Maddox Ranch neighborhood where she raised her children, and, later on, to the community of her children's friends at Rio Americano High School. Her door was always open. Over the years, she warmly welcomed exchange students from France, Japan, China, and Belgium-where she is beloved-and took in anyone who might be in need. In this spirit, she gave back to the local community in more ways than can be named, to organizations including: the Sacramento Children's Musical Theater, the American Cancer Society, and Mustard Seed.

Donna's laughter was a joy. Her goodness was simple, genuine, unbounded. Her loveliness was effortless. Her legacy is one of nonjudgmentalism, profound graciousness and maternal love.

Donna will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Melissa Seley (Alex Scordelis) and Jennifer Seley. Her grandchildren: Caden, Madelyn, Charlotte and George. Her brother, Wes Williamson, and sister, Paula Williamson. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mildren and Ben Williamson, and by her son, Jeffery Seley.

Donations may be made in Donna's honor to the Sacramento Public Library.

So sorry to discover that your mom had passed away a few years ago. I had worked with her at Sac State in Financial Aids in the 70´s when we were young and you kids were just being born. Today I am in Roseville at a volleyball tournament and googled your mom to see if we could reconnect. I still can see her smile, hear her laugh and remember her witty personality

The last text I got from Donna. How she loved her grandkids. I hope this helps them see the love.

Ross Du Clair and the Seley family, I was saddened to learn of sweet Donna´s passing. May you rely on the many great memories of the love and life you shared. I was honored to be a part of her circle of friends in the hospitality world.
I pray she rests in peace and the family honors her memory in their lives going forward.

Donna was the best friend anyone could have ever imagined. She was always there to listen and never judged or was critical. She had a way of getting across her opinions gently and sweetly. I will miss our many times lamenting over children, husbands, and just life in general. We shared many laughs and beautiful memories. Rest in peace, my dear, dear friend. I´ll see you on the other side.

Dear Ross Du Clair and to the Seley family,
Donna's unexpected departure was shocking to all of us. I will remember her beautiful smile and her ability to always "remain calm under fire". The love she had for ALL of you was evident. My heart is breaking for her Grandchildren that she so adored. May she now find the peace and happiness she deserves.
