Donna Simpson Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Donna, who departed this life on August 21, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on May 30th, 1951, in Tennessee, Donna was a beacon of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. She dedicated her life to nurturing those around her, always offering a kind word, a listening ear, and a comforting embrace. Her home was a sanctuary of laughter and cherished memories.
Donna, along with her family, established Alert Ambulance in New Jersey, eventually retiring to Florida with her beloved husband, Jerry Simpson. She was an active member of the Toms River Rotary Club and supported many social causes. She loved reading, music, and long walks while collecting shells at the beach. She shared her passion for traveling with her family, especially along with her brother Robert and sister-in-law Pat.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Donna leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and grace. Her stories, traditions, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Donna is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Simpson, her parents David and Geraldine Davis, and her brother Russell Davis.
She is survived by her children April Cooke, Aaron Rizzo and wife Lisa Rizzo, John Rizzo and wife Cristina Rizzo, grandchildren Keely Stevenson, Emily Rizzo and Samuel Rizzo, her brother and sister-in-law Robert Davis and Pat Davis, her sister Geraldine Pedicini. In addition, her stepchildren Scott Simpson and wife Lysa, Michelle Sundburg and husband Bill, Craig Simpson and wife Roxanne, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchild, who will continue to honor her memory and carry forward the values she instilled in them.
A private family gathering will be held to honor Donna's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association (link below) a cause close to her heart.

Donna, you will be missed more than you'll ever know. So much happened to you in the last few years, yet you persevered with grace. We had lots of fine times together and I will cherish those memories forever. We two girls from Brick did pretty well for ourselves!

We are deeply saddened by Donna´s passing, she will always be loved and remembered.
We thank God for allowing us to enjoy wonderful times as a family.
Donna will be an unforgettable memory; we especially remember our time in Toms River, and in Destine where we shared our happiest and most enjoyable moments.
We want to express our deepest condolences to her son John Rizzo and his wife Cristina Rizzo, our daughter, and her other children, April Cooke, Aaron Rizzo and wife Lisa Rizzo, grandchildren Keely Stevenson, Emily Rizzo and Samuel Rizzo. And to her brother and sister-in-law Robert Davis and Pat Davis, her sister Geraldine Pedicini.
