Donovan and Dusty Sargent

Donovan Sargent, 45, and his brother Dusty Sargent, 43, both of Portland, Oregon, passed away on September 11 and September 8, 2025. Losing them both so close together has been devastating.

Donovan, born in Portland, built a career as an Executive Producer for a national radio station. He carried a deep passion for writing and creativity and found joy in the world of tabletop gaming. His imagination and unique point of view left a mark not only on his work but on everyone lucky enough to share a game or a story with him.

Dusty, also born in Portland, was tech-savvy and artistic, with a gift for blending nostalgia with innovation. He loved tinkering with media and technology from the past, always finding new ways to bring old memories to life. His creativity and perspective were a constant source of inspiration to those around him.

They now join their father, Guy "Sunny" Sargent, and their mother, Denise Sargent, in the great beyond. Though they lost many of their closest relatives too soon, Donovan and Dusty belonged to a strong chosen family, a community that will remember them with great love. The stories, laughter, and adventures they contributed to will forever remain part of the lore of the community they helped create.

A memorial will be held at the Gladstone Community Center on October 11, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. This space holds deep meaning, as it is where many of us first met and where our chosen family was formed. It feels only fitting to gather there to celebrate Donovan and Dusty's lives. Following the service, friends and family will raise a glass in their honor at The Arlington Tap House (formerly Arlington Market, a landmark of our town).
