"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only but unto all them that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4-7-8
Mrs. Dora Lee Fields, 87, of Stony Creek, Virginia, transitioned on Friday, August 16, 2019. She fought the good fight but submitted to the Master's call at Dinwiddie Health and Rehab Center, Dinwiddie, Virginia.
Dora Lee joined First Baptist Church, Jarrett, Virginia at an early age and was an active missionary member. She attended church faithfully until her health began to decline.
Dora Lee retired from Titmus Optical Company after many years of services. Always had a caring heart and willing to help anyone. She would always prepare food and share with her co-workers, which they enjoyed.
Dora Lee adored her weekly outing (shopping, eating, visiting people) with her late granddaughter Tina, and with her daughters. She loved to work in her garden, and canned pear preserves in fall for the family and friends. She was known for her famous pineapple cake. Truly will be missed by family, friends, and the community.
Dora Lee was known by many and left an imprint on the hearts of everyone that met her. Always gave a word of encouragement, and she loved her family unconditionally. She has now embraced the words of her favorite hymn, "May the Work I've Done Speak For Me."
Dora Lee was preceded by her husband, Joe Thomas Fields; mother, Ruth Prosise; son, Carroll Thomas Fields; brothers, David Prosise and George Prosise; sisters, Ethel Mae Prosise and Ida Mae Spencer; granddaughters, Beverly Flowers, Tracey Prosise, and Zeanette "Tina" Jarrell; great-granddaughter, Kamisha Flowers.
Dora Lee is survived by her devoted children, Linda Gregory (Jacob), Nancy Shell (William), Barbara Roney, Beatrice Flowers (Robert), Selester Robinson, MacArthur Fields and Ronnie Fields; sisters, Irene Rose (Jack), Louise Prosise, Josephine Prosise and Ann Roberts; brothers, Vincent Prosise (Marilyn), Curtis Prosise, William Rose and Harvey Prosise. A legacy of devoted grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that she loved as her own; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends, devoted Rosa and John Mabry, Myrtie Griffin, Ruby Davis, Margaret Richardson, Annie Peavy, Mary Hill, Lucy Hill, and Ethel Pulliam. Devoted nephew, Mack Donald Chambliss, and niece, Virginia Hill.
"And so it was……..that she having waited long and endured patiently realized and obtained WHAT GOD HAD PROMISED." Hebrews 6:15
