Dora Gomez Olvera, 88, went home to Jesus, peacefully, in her home on October 4, 2023.

Dora was born to Herculano and Jane Gomez and brother Joe on September 10, 1935. She had two sons, Sam and Tony and married S.F.C. Joe Olvera in 1963. They retired in El Paso Texas in 1974.

Dora devoted her time to being a wife and a child-caregiver and working at Mother’s Day Out. But her true passion was making elegant Barbie doll clothes for Operation Santa Claus for many years.

Dora was the true definition of strength, enduring many medical procedures throughout her life with little complaint. She loved Our Lord Jesus Christ, even requesting to still watch Sunday Mass up until the end. She was preceded in death by most of her family, but is survived by her daughter-in-law, Suki Martinez, her granddaughters Cassandra and Nichole and Sam’s daughter Erika.

Dora will be buried alongside her beloved Joe at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on October 11, 2023 at 10 AM; with a Celebration of Life on October 14, 2023 at Blended Nation Fellowship church. Please visit online registry at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.

Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.  Please visit her online memorial at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
