Dora Vasquez Obituary
SANTA ROSA, TX.-
Dora N. Vasquez, 57, of Santa Rosa, Texas went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.
Doris, as we all knew her, was born on October 6, 1955 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Erasmo and Raquel Chapa. She attended college for a short time before deciding to move to Dallas, TX with her uncles, this way being able to work and help her family financially. There in Dallas, she gave her life to Jesus Christ in 1973 and from that time on she dedicated her life to the work of her Lord even though she was very young. She felt a calling to serve God, but didn't understand what He wanted for her until she married the now Rev. Seferino Vasquez, Jr. and from that day on, began her ministry in being her husband's co-pastor. She was also endowed with many talents, which she dedicated with all her love and strength to all. She was loved and admired by children, the youth and everyone that met her. She was always smiling, sharing her love with all.
Doris is survived by her husband of 32 years, Rev. Seferino Vasquez; sons, Aaron (Pride), Jaythan (Love) and Brandon (Joy); Aaron's girlfriend Susan was the daughter she never had but always wanted; Mother, Raquel Chapa; Sister, Mirma Elia Vela; Sister, Raquel De La Garza; Brother, Erasmo (Elba) Cha-pa Garcia; Sister Idalia (Ruben) Araceli Flores; Brother, Jaime Chapa; Brother, Jose Raul Chapa; Brother, Roberto (Maria) Amadeo Chapa; Sister, Denise (Alejandro) Berenice Gomez; Sister, Veronica (Santiago) Chapa; Thirteen Nephews; Fifteen Nieces; and Great Aunt of fifteen.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 from 1:00 to 9:00 PM; there will be a 7:00 PM prayer service at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Templo Bethel in Santa Rosa, TX.
Interment will follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Cemetery.
