Doreen Babcock Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2021.
July 7, 1941 - March 30, 2021 Beloved mother to Heather, Kathryn and Laura, grandmother to Dero, Madelaine and Matisse, sister to Linda Miller-Nesbitt, mother-in-Law to Chris and Rob and wife to Bob died peacefully after a long battle with cancer. She lived her life in service to others as a nurse, Meals-on-Wheels volunteer and friend to many. She loved Canada, travelling the world with Friendship Force, bird watching, going on walks, visiting Hamilton waterfalls, gardening, her French club, politics and advocating for others. Thank you to the wonderful people at Aberdeen Gardens, Juravinski Cancer Centre and St. Peter's Hospital. A private service will be live-streamed for family and friends. The interment will be held at Nelle's Corners. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canada Baptist Convention for COVID Response, https://baptist.ca/donate/ or other charity. So very sorry to come across this very sad news.
We met so many years ago at Kipling Baptist Church. Fond memories of wonderful times shared. Love to all, Donna and Susan.

Dear Heather, Kathryn, Laura, I just found out today about the passing of your mother last year. Please accept my sincere condolences. I remember how Doreen was always smiling, positive, gentle, articulate, a woman of great faith and welcoming. She made sure that my mother and I felt at home when we first began attending Val Royal Baptist Church. I was 8 years old at the time & very shy. She would frequently check on me to be sure I was ok during after-service coffee time & church socials. She was my 1st Sunday School teacher. Seeing her photo here brought back fond memories of her and your family. I'm thankful she lived long enough to know her grandchildren and enjoy you as grown women. Still, the death of your irreplaceable mother is a loss like no other. May Doreen rest in peace and may you be comforted by her love for you and your love for each other. Most sincerely, Veronica Fabian (Vitany)

Please accept my deepest condolences at the passing of Doreen. I am the minister at Knox Presbyterian Church in Burlington where Doreen worshipped for a while. She was a caring woman who had a deep faith and kind heart. Her smile was infectious! May you experience the peace of Christ as you grieve this loss.

Doreen was a friend from Sherbrooke Baptist Church. We saw each other frequently over the years. The last time was at the Lighthouse Theatre in Port Dover. With Covid we lost track of each other. My condolences to the family.
