Doreen Ogden

OGDEN, Doreen Alice Elizabeth (nee Byford) Peacefully at Richview Village, Uxbridge on March 1, 2008 in her 76th year with her family by her side. Loving companion of John Hurlbut and wife of the late Kenneth (1966). Cherished Mom of her daughters Terry Windsor (Don Philp), Sandra Denby (Dan), sons Mark (Shelley) and the late Brian. Also predeceased by sister Joan Evanoff (John). Doreen will be sadly missed by her brother Ken Byford, her grandchildren Bill Windsor (Alice), Karen Windsor (Adam Oliver) and Ken Windsor, Joshua and Addam Ogden and great-grandson Colin Windsor. Also fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. As a young widow, Doreen successfully raised her four children long before working mothers became the norm. She inspired independence, family commitment and a positive outlook on life. Friends may call at O'Neill Funeral Home, 6324 Main St. Stouffville (905-642-2855) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service from Goodwood United Church, Wednesday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
