Doris J. Brown
SPRINGFIELD-Doris J. Brown, 75 of Springfield, IL died at 10:25 am Monday, November 22, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on October 24, 1935 in Virginia, IL to John W. and Sophia E. Miller Logue. She married William H. "Bill" Brown on November 7, 1954 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents, 1 daughter; Diane Brown, 2 brothers; James and Raymond Logue and a sister; Wanda Logue.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary #755, DAV Auxiliary, and Military Order of the Cooties #9 Auxiliary. She was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed playing cards and BINGO. She loved spending time with her family and grand-puppies Allie and Mutt Mutt. She was a cook at PJ's and several other restaurants. She also worked at Martinizing and Lee's Cleaners. She was also a mother and homemaker.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Debra (Terry) Arnold of Girard and Kathy Tritt of Springfield, 2 sons; Eddie (Shelia) Brown of Monmouth and John (Martha) Brown of Rochester, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 sister Martha (Ronald) Wesselman of Franklin, IN and 3 brothers; Harry (Linda) Logue and Fred (Merleta) Logue, both of Rochester and Lonnie (Penny) Logue of Richmond, VA, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Monday, November 29, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Animal Protective League.
