Doris Dellinger Obituary

Doris Faye Sheppard Dellinger, age 71, of White Rock Road, Clifton, died at her home Jan. 10, 2004, after a long illness with cancer. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at Price Funeral Home on Center Street, Manassas by the Rev. Dr. Billy Ross. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Waterlick, Va. Mrs. Dellinger was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Braxton, Miss., the daughter of the late Joseph Fredrick and Nannie Mae Boone Sheppard. She was a homemaker and was employed by Giant Foods for 25 years. She was a life long member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Alvin Jasper Dellinger Sr.; three sons, Norman G. Dellinger of Annandale, Alvin J. Dellinger Jr. of Gainesville, Wayne F. Dellinger of Ellicott City, Md.; sister, Ruth Sheppard Phillips of Mendenhall, Miss.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Justin A. Dellinger, Christopher L. Dellinger, Steven G. Dellinger, Charles Beekman Sr., Ed Sundeen and Larry Wellman. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Price Funeral Home.
