Doris R. Garbose
93, of Palm Beach Shores, Florida passed away on October 16, 2017. She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on March 11, 1924 the third of five daughters of David and Betty Lesser whose father owned a men's clothing store. Dee graduated from the University of Michigan in 1945 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She married Judge William Garbose on August 19, 1945. Dee was a Nursing Home Administrator for Franklin Nursing Home and Keystone Nursing Home, and Chairman of Massachusetts State Board of Licensure of Nursing Home Administrators. She was Past National President of Sigma Delta Tau Sorority and founder of Chi Chapter at University Michigan. She was a Massachusetts Republican State Committee woman for 14 years and was a Delegate to the GOP National Convention in Miami Beach in 1968. Dee was preceded in death by her husband William Garbose and sons David Lewis Garbose and Jonathan Lee Garbose. She was also preceded in death by sisters Frances Black, Muriel Altschuler, and Ann Lesser. She is survived by her sons Daniel M. Garbose of Jupiter, FL, James L. Garbose of North Palm Beach, FL, daughter Susan Brown of Plymouth, MA, grandson Joseph Garbose, sister Margery Elfin, granddog Sophie and many loving family and friends including Trina Nava. The family would like to extend great thanks to caregivers Tori J. Packer, Dorpatee Stewart, Evanette Guillaume, and Evelise Sutera. Special gratefulness and thanks for extraordinary care provided by Dr. Donald Watren and Nurses Donna McLoughlin and Denise Santana. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 22nd at 1:00 PM, B'nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John's Road in Worcester, Massachusetts 01603.
