Doris M. Genelin

Doris Mae Genelin, age 74, of St. Peter, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Grandview Good Samaritan Nursing Home in St. Peter.Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2009 at the Church of St. Peter. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2009 with a 6:30 prayer service at St. Peter Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter.Doris was born to Adolph and Barbara (Bauman) Lampl on March 5, 1935. She attended St. Mary's Catholic school and graduated in 1954 from New Ulm High School. She married Dick Genelin on July 27, 1954. Doris worked at St. Peter Community Hospital for 14 years and St. Peter School district for 24 years. She lived life to the fullest.Doris survived by her husband, Dick; two daughters, Shelly (Bruce) Lurth, Bridget (Kim) Olson all of St. Peter; three grandchildren, Crystal, Eric, and Jake; three great-grandchildren and soon to arrive, two more great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine (Don) Hellickson of Sanborn, MN; several nieces and nephews and one spoiled rotten dog.Doris was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette McDonough and Jean Roiger.
