EDEN - Doris "Dot" Perry Powell, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 at Duke Medical Center in Durham.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 25 at First Baptist Church of Draper. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Powell was born January 28, 1930 in Fieldale, VA, to the late John and Beulah Ketner Perry. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Draper and was retired from Karastan Rug Mill.
Surviving are her three sons, Richard Powell and wife, Kaye, John Powell, and Kim Ray Powell and wife, Kimberly, all of Eden; grandchildren, Megan Behe and husband, Matt of Smithfield, Whitney Powell, Chris Powell, Landon Powell, and Janna Powell of Eden; great-grandchild, Landis "Cole" Behe of Smithfield; brothers, John Perry of Fieldale, VA and Jimmy Perry of Danville, VA; sisters, Margie Clarke of Richmond, VA and Ann Wilson of Columbia, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Landis "Dickie" Powell.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 7 - 9 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Richard Powell, 134 Country View Rd., Eden.

We were so sad to learn of dear Dot Powell's death. And yet we sorrow not as those without hope. God has given us the assurance that we will see her again "one day"! We thank Him for allowing us to know her. We pray God's peace for the family.
