Doris Rankin

Mrs. Doris Jean Rankin, age 57, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Sunday morning, October 9, 2011 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Doris was born October 30, 1953 in Maslin, Ohio, a daughter of the late James and Pauline Woodard Stowers. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Roland J. Rankin of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Roland and Amy Rankin, Jr., of Chatsworth, GA, Ben and Tracy Rankin of Eton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Rankin, Jeane and David Leatherwood, Laura Rankin, Tiffany Rankin and Erica Rankin all of Chatsworth, GA, and Krystal and Brian Beck of Shelbyville, IL; nephew, Bobby Maton of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Garion Rolandson, Emma Beck, Breyton Beck, Barry Rankin, Jamal Alshouli, Sarah Alshouli and Jacob Alshouli; brother, Bo Stowers; sisters, Kris Stowers, Sue Moore, Tink Stowers; several other nephews and nieces. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Doris Jean Rankin will be held Tuesday morning, October 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Murray Memorial Gardens with David Leatherwood, Jacob Alshouli, Jamal Alshouli, Bobby Maton, Roland Rankin, Jr., and Ben Rankin serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday.
