Doris Roberts, 95, of Branchburg NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Born in Keyport, she resided there before moving to Branchburg 58 years ago. Throughout her life, Mrs. Roberts worked at the Keyport Banking Company, Somerset Veterinary Group, and the Country Basket Shop.

Doris was a communicant of the St. John's Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Bound Brook PTA, the Women's Bowling League, the Branchburg Senior Citizens Club, and the Branchburg Rescue Squad Ladies Aux for over 25 years.

Mrs. Roberts was a devoted Yankees fan, and an avid reader. She loved playing cards, especially pinochle, traveling with her late husband Edgar, going to the Jersey Shore, and spending quality time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Emma Wilson; her beloved husband of 52 years, Edgar Roberts (1995); and her brother, John K. Wilson (1998).

Surviving are her cherished daughter, Linda and her husband Rik Alexanderson of Plainfield NJ; her beloved son Greg and his wife Roberta Earle of Wayne PA; a loving granddaughter, Lauren E. Alexanderson of Washington D.C.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM and Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.

A prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Saturday, March 5, 2016 followed by interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.

Doris , Harriet Davis and I spent fun times together at Seniors meetings and on trips. She had such a great sense of humor. Harriet and I still miss her a lot.
