Dorothy (Dottie) Burton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 7, 2022.
Dorothy (Dottie) Christine Krahn (Burton), born December 14, 1951, loving sister, mother, aunt and grandmother, was called to the Lord on June 27th, 2022. Dottie went to school and grew up in the Mountlake Terrace area. Shortly after finishing high school she went to work for BFGoodrich in Tacoma, Washington. In 1973 she met and married the love of her life, Dan Burton. She then went to work for Beneficial Loans and left there with 22 years of service. She then went to work for Van Waters & Rogers, in Bellevue, Washington. In her spare time she enjoyed, and was very accomplished in "china painting", she painted many beautiful works of art. Dottie being a generous and loving person, gave many beautiful pieces away as gifts for anniversaries, birthdays, and to celebrate new additions to our growing family. Each gift was personalized with names and dates. Dottie was also a Council member with the Snohomish Tribe of Indians and was proud of her heritage.

In 2014, Dottie and Dan's son Harley, left us to be with our Lord and Savior. At that time Dottie and Dan graciously invited Harley's fianc?, Michelle Bidgood and their grandson Judge to move into their home in Bothell. Dottie was very busy raising her grandson, and finally in 2020 decided it was time to take the path of retirement.

Dottie is preceded in death by her sons, Harley and Gary Burton; her brother Michel (Dee) Graham, her sister Pam (Gary) Whitaker. She is survived by her husband Dan Burton, sons Keith and Daniel, and grandchildren Kaden,Destiny, Colton & Judge and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 7 siblings; Dave Krahn (Greenfield, MO), Debbie (Bob) Gilmore (Snohomish, WA), Dean (Shirree) Krahn (Thorndale, TX.), Laurie (Dennis) Loeber (Lynnwood, WA), Denise (Chris) Krout (Arlington, WA), Jeannie (Rod) Krahn-Cockle (Kingston, WA.), Tim Krahn (Mountlake Terrace, WA.).

I was so saddened to hear of "Dorothy´s" passing. Although we hadn´t seen each other for years, she has remained in my memory as a kind and caring childhood friend. I most remember drawing and doing art projects together. We got along well and I consider her one of my dearest childhood friends.

We are so sorry, Dottie was like one of our kids and she was like family. Watching her grow up from a beautiful child to a beautiful person.

Dorothy was an invaluable Council Member for the Snohomish Tribe of Indians and Corresponding Secretary in the end. She was a kind person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. It was a pleasure to serve with her. She will be greatly missed.

You were the light for a lot of us, with your beautiful smile and loving heart, but it was your eyes that invited you in to that special place! If you were one of the lucky people and there were a lot, that was deserving and honored to have a spot of unconditional love!
I miss you terribly, but I will see you soon!

Dottie was one third of my favorite three aunts in the family. She always greeted with a smile and a hug and was one of the kindest people I know. I am going to miss her greatly.
