Joan M. Hojnacki, nee Soderlund, age 79, late of St. John, IN, formerly of Calumet City, IL, passed away July 23, 2012, beloved wife of William for 58 years; loving mother of Diane Mary (Edward) Simpson, William III (Lynn) Hojnacki and Jody Ann (Joel) Stamborski; cherished grandmother of nine; dearest sister of Florence (Emil) Strong and Carol (Richard) Kozlowski; dear sister-in-law of many; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Harold Soderlund and Mary Soderlund, nee Palasik; and her brothers Harold and Leonard. Joan enjoyed her grandchildren and gardening. Visitation Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel, 11300 W. 97th Ln. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th Ln.), St. John. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. 219-365-3474. www.elmwoodchapel.com.

It's not the best way to hear from someone you havent seen in a long while. I am very sorry to hear of your mothers passing while looking at the paper. So I thought I would send my blessings your way. I truly am sorry for you and your families loss. Take care. GOD BLESS.
