My heart is broken and yet full of joy.. I will forever miss and love Dorothy. Preschool began a connection between our families. Jason, Sarah, Randy, we will be here for you in anyway you can use our assistance . Our love and thoughts are with you. Dorothy's smile and touch will be missed in ways that are still unseen, but her touch is always here too. Just looking into each person she was associated with will bring a smile until the end of time. Her time with us was short but always a pleasure. With fond and loving memories, David & Rene'

To me Dorothy is a young woman in High School, because that is when I knew her. She had a light, accesible, intelligent air. She was beautiful. I couldn't have named it then, but had some awareness that she seemed very comfortable in her own skin - her own person. Now that seems like an accomplishment for a suburban girl in the 1970's.
My prayers are for Dorothy, her family and friends.

For all of Dorothy's family, I'm so sorry. To me, she was Megan's "big sister", and I can't imagine losing mine. May your memories help you through this devastating time.

We were shocked and saddened to read about Dorothy's death at the prime of her life. John has had a professional association for many years with Randy. Dorothy's path and mine (Jane's) may have crossed from time to time, although I don't think either one of us would remember meeting one another. I, like her, am 47 and a mother of two, so her death touches me deeply. Our prayer's are with Dorothy's family.

Dorothy was a spectacular woman. She was beautiful, talented, and loving. Randy made her part of our family and we will never be the same without her.

Doro thy in the middle,
now there's a big hole in the middle
and in our hearts.
She was my sister.
We shared a bedroom,
bithdays, two days apart,
Betsy Wetsy.
When I ate all my Halloween candy, I'd try and find where she had hidden hers.
She would "borrow" my clothes.
We were college roommates.
She was my sister.
We didn't always get along,
my father would say
"your sister will always be your best friend".
I was looking forward to moving back to Virginia,
and renewing our friendship.
Hanging out.
Becoming crazy old ladies together.
She was my sister
and she slipped away.
I Love you Dorothy.

Anne lovett Saunders sent me the news about your sister. I cherish my sisters. I am the youngest. They are all I have had since my mother died when I was 17. Thinking of you.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Dorothy's passing. I will always treasure not only my memories of her as a child but also of the time my sister and I spent with her the day of Mary Jane's 80th birthday. My thoughts and prayers are with Dorothy's family.

We will miss Dorothy so very much. Always a cheery smile and wave as she drove to and from her lovely house and wonderful family. What a great friend she was to so many of us. What a remarkable family she raised. The Ivy Hill community owes much to her, Randy and the children.

My dear friend Dorothy has been more than a friend to me over the past 14 years, she was my sister regardless of our bloodlines. There are no words to express the sorrow of her departure from this world. I know that she has found a new home & that she will be at peace there. Someday I will be visiting her and anticipate great food, laughter & conversation, a good bottle of champagne, a really hot tub, an excellent masseur (or two), and a big welcoming hug. I will miss Dorothy terribly & have placed her deeply into my heart.

Sleep peacefully, Dorothy. Rest while you can, because when we meet again, there'll be nothing stopping us!

Randy, Jason, Sarah & MJ,
Mere words are inadequate to express how I feel about the loss of Dorothy. I am fortunate to be able to recall the wonderfully hilarious times we all spent together in the years before we left Virginia.
