Dorothy Blythe Frostick

Dorothy Blythe Frostick, age 47, died on Jan. 16, 2005. She was a resident of Warrenton since 1987, and active in the community and loved by many. She was born May 19, 1957, to William J. and Mary Jane Lloyd and grew up in Arlington County. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1980. Dorothy married Randolph Frostick in 1981 and the newlyweds resided in Williamsburg until 1982 when they moved to Salem, VA. In 1983, Dorothy and her husband moved to Centreville. She then obtained an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from Northern Virginia Community College in 1985. She worked as a physical therapy assistant until the birth of her son Jason Lloyd Frostick in 1986. Her daughter Sarah Blythe Frostick was born in 1988. Dorothy was a dedicated mother, but still found time to pursue other interests and civic affairs. After moving to Ivy Hill subdivision in 1992, she learned to weave baskets, which she sold at craft fairs. She served as a member of the board of directors and secretary for the Ivy Hill Homeowners Association for a number of years. She also became the Registrar of the Fauquier County Soccer Club. A dedicated soccer mom, Dorothy never missed a soccer game being played by her children, and even served as the assistant coach for the Taylor Middle School Girls Soccer team during its first season of play. She loved children and was particularly good with small children. Her primary joy came from being with her husband and children, and she enjoyed traveling, boating, hiking and gardening. Dorothy was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain and try new foods with her family and many friends. Dorothy is survived by her husband, children, mother and sisters, Marney Hackley and Megan Allen. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army for the Tsunami Relief Fund.
