Bartonville-Mary K. Hensley, 88, of Bartonville died at O.S.F. St. Clare Nursing Home at 9:05 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012.

She was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Peoria, to William and Claire O'Connell Purcell. She married Dwight E. Hensley on Feb. 17, 1944, in Peoria and he passed away May 27, 1986, in Bartonville.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Purcell and one sister, Betty Grant.

Mary is survived by four daughters, Susan (John) Maggio of Peoria, Kathy Hensley of Peoria, Sharon Blachford of Belvidere, IL, and Christine Sherman of Peoria. Also surviving are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mary was a full time homemaker and part-time cafeteria worker at Limestone High School retiring in 1989.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville.

Both family and friends always enjoyed her friendly smile.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Wright and Salmon Mortuary. Father David Heinz will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to P.A.R.C.
