There was a tradition amongst the children in my family. When each of us turned 12 we took a trip all by ourselves to NY to visit grandma and grandpa. The summer after I turned 12 I took the trip, and one day while relaxing in the pool, sipping a milkshake (that was supposed to be ice-cream) that Uncle Eddie had made, Grandma came out of the house in her swim suit.
I jokingly remarked, "Are you going to jump off the diving board?"
To which she replied. "of course I am." Then, to my astonishment, she (then about 85 years old) walked around the edge of the pool, got up on the diving board, and "cannonballed" off, spraying water everywhere.
That's how I remember Grandma: tenacious, daring, and always jovial. I miss her so much, and I bet she's in heaven right now doing cannonballs into an olympic sized swimming pool (one that isn't freezing cold).
I love you so much Grandma!
Love,

Meagan - you as so much like your grandmother.
